And now for something completely different: Dragonfly

The other day when I was coming back from work, I've noticed something large sitting on our window sill outside.  It was quite still, and didn't even move when I got closer.  It was a huge dragonfly.  I always wanted to catch one, and this proved to be a great opportunity.  It was sitting motionless for a long time, so I managed to grab my seldom used macro lens and the camera of course, and had a mini photo session.  One thing I've noticed that the dragonfly did not want to smile or pose.  It just sat there.  I tried telling jokes and asking nicely to move this way or that.  It all fell on def ears.  I apologize for no smiles and no posing, but still the dragonfly was kind enough to allow me to take some portraits of it, before it got tired and flew away. Enjoy. Dragonfly

Of blue skies and snow

Because of the strong winds, the sun finally came out.  Basking the splendour of the scenery in warm colours.  The forests became green, the sky blue, and the snow sparkling virgin white.  The ragged peaks raised high with parting clouds looked over their domain.  It did not last though, as the clouds returned, and the world turned black and white yet again.... but that I will leave for the next post.  So enjoy the colour, while it lasts. Patterns

This time I have uploaded a larger resolution files into the post as an experiment.  So if you click on the pictures you should see them in higher resolution.

Old Train Bridge

I was meaning to shoot this old bridge for a long while. It is situated in Edmonton, in Heritage Park, not too far from home. So grabbed the kiddies and their bikes and went to the park.

Old Train Bridge

I was a bit surprised that this bridge was so old. According to the date, on one of the pillars it was built in 1908. I could have spent more time there, but I had to keep and eye on the kiddies. I will have to come back there at some point.

Cool colors

I thought this would be fairly easy challenge. I mean it's colors, right? Ha, wrong. Colors are all around, and mostly in combinations of cool and warm. They complement each other. Trying to do a composition of only cool or warm colors is not that easy. I've been messing about with candies, mirrors, rum, ice, lego blocks. Just wasn't working out. There was always something missing. Finally yesterday I was able to create something better. I have 3 candidates for the challenge, and here they are in no particular order:

Diseased

Peacefull Loneliness

L'Amour A Mort

I really like the second picture best followed by the first, then the third. Which is completely opposite to everyone else. Thoughts?
