The last time we've ventured to Elk Island National Park the world was covered in deep snow.. (Hunting for Bison at Elk Island). Now all this snow has melted and turned the land into one almost everlasting wetland.. There was no silence when we arrived there about a week ago in the evening. The music of frogs and mosquito buzzing, interrupted on occasion by a bird call or two was everywhere.. Thank Goodness for bug spray!!! If it wasn't for a heavy layer of it we would have been eaten alive!! But, we were rather well prepared, having a tube of the heavy stuff stashed inside our vehicle at all times :D. And it was great because if we weren't prepared we would have missed all the sights we've seen: beavers going about their supper, lots of birds and a surprisingly beautiful sunset - which we didn't really expect due to the clouds gathering on the western horizon. All in all, it was another wonderful trip, made better by the fact that when we started our drive we never planned to arrive at Elk Island.. It just happened ;D.. And, since today, the sky is rather heavy with dark clouds a little bit of colorful sunset and vibrant spring world will do us good, I think.. So enjoy! Kasia

Of lines, curves shadows and light.
A new building and a new name. Art Gallery of Alberta used to be called Edmonton Art Gallery. The new building was designed by Randall Stout Architects and it finally opened in January of 2010. It is a very strange building, and definitely a sight to behold. There are divided opinion on the building, personally I like it. It definitely is very photogenic. Here are some examples. Enjoy.
Of heels, phones, and beads
There is nothing that I can add to this series of photos.... just Enjoy!
Of sunrises, birds, and the end...
As the sun rose above the horizon, the Wabamum lake came to life, as well as the town. Delivery trucks, power boats, and people started milling around, as if the appearance of the sun was a signal to start life anew. I knew it was time to snap a few more shots and call it a day. Here are the last of the Wabamum Sunrise, enjoy.
Of reflections, sunrises and water...
This absolutely wonderful morning, turned into dazzling real fast. As I was enjoying the quiet, I felt the early warmth of the first sun rays on my back. I looked up and saw the high clouds blushing at their reflection in the still waters below.
The fog was swirling on the distant shore, and the clouds started to move quicker, although on the peer there was almost no wind and the water was quite still. The birds increased their calls as to welcome the warmth after a cold night, and the still masts reflected their salute.
The heavens touched the waters, bathing in still reflections of unity and never ending peace, until...
The east erupted in brilliance, and breathtaking beauty. What happened next will be concluded in the upcoming post.... so stay tuned, and enjoy!
