It’s almost spring, but it will be a while yet, here on the Alberta prairies before we see anything blooming. Thus, I thought, a bit of color will do us all good! Pink is not my favorite color normally, but when it is natural it is quite lovely. I use the term “pink” loosely here

Can't Wait For Spring!
It’s still winter on the prairies but there are signs that spring is around the corner. I have heard some geese flying by, the sun is nice and warm and snow is melting fast after a fall. I am looking forward to the spring colors. Over the years, I have been taking as many spring shots as possible, just to feast my eyes with the rich color and gorgeous light.

Can't Wait For Spring!
A Bit Of Spring Never Hurt Anybody..
Snow..
Regrettably, I did not have a chance recently to go and photograph snowflakes, despite of it’s snowing on and off quite often.. It is not as simple as one would think. It takes a good macro lens, a steady hand, good shooting conditions and a goodly amount of warm clothing, so that you don’t freeze, being stationary for long time in -20oC weather
It's finally Spring!!
A Little Macro Never Hurt Anybody..
have said it before and, I'm going to say it again. There is nothing better than looking at some colorful macros when it's freezing cold outside, days are short and the world is covered in white. I think, considering how cold it has been so far on the prairies, that we all deserve a bit of color therapy.
Happy New Year! (From Frozen Solid Alberta)
I, simply, cannot believe, how fast this year has passed. It seems like just a moment ago I have had a hard task of selecting photos I liked the most from last year and now, I have to do it all over again. However, I will not be showing you my selection in this post, due to some minor technical difficulties. Instead I will share my latest images.
Playing With Snow
One of my favorite things to do, after a fresh snowfall, is to go out and look for nice snowflakes to photograph. Snowflakes are quite fascinating and so lovely to look at. It needs to be rather cold for perfect snowflakes to form and stay that way for a bit. If it's too windy, they will be blown away or, simply, be destroyed (not mentioning impossibility to focus one's lens on them). If it's sunny they will melt..
In Need of Some Color
It's Finally Here!
This year, spring has been very slow to arrive. Two snow storms and gloomy skies and rains during April and nothing in nature was moving until the arrival of May. I was so very happy to see the buds finally starting to open up and wasn't able to resist taking some macro gear and starting on the pictures.

A year ago... Photography Reflections.
I have been slacking. Mostly because .... I guess I'm lazy. I do have a backlog of images that are asking politely to be posted somewhere... maybe someone will like them? What if no one really cares? Will that have an impact? Should it have an impact? Should our creativity be influenced by someone liking or disliking or simply not caring about the images we create
